Beaverton, OR — Today, we unveiled The Other Shoes Project; the first place that prompts people from different backgrounds to virtually go on walks together.
On OtherShoes.com, anyone can enter their demographics and, each time they plan to go for a walk, can be paired with someone from a different background going for a walk as well. The app will give discussion prompts to stimulate conversations and allow the participants to learn more about other people.
At a time of extreme polarization and still-segregated cities where the color of your skin dictates whether you can walk in a specific neighborhood, it is as important as ever to have an open dialogue with one another and learn about each other.
People from around the world go on walks, learn all about their differences and realize, at the end of the day, we’re a lot more similar than we think.
