This panel is about g. G is an asian american woman who was introduced to the myth of the american dream at a very early age as she grew up in an overwhelmingly white town. Through observing her friends at school she noticed she would have to jump more obstacles than the kids around her. Soon enough g realized that those obstacles – those layers – were endless. Due to racism, structural violence, inequity and more, she and many other Americans would never reach their American dream, no matter how hard they tried and how many layers they peeled back.
