My parents immigrated from Central Europe. Some of my family still lives there and their lives are better in some ways. They have a year and a half of maternity leave. They have extended paid vacation. That’s what you need to be happy!
We’re sold a vision of the ideals of this country as children. But as you grow, you see how people really struggle. You see how people younger than you, and older than you, and the same age as you, are trying to make ends meet. They’re just working to get by.
